Frequently Asked Questions

What is the purpose of TriAlliance?

The purpose of a neighborhood security patrol with off-duty cops is to deter crime and enhance community safety through a visible, trained law enforcement presence, while also facilitating communication and the sharing of tips within the community about recent criminal activity.

What do I do if I experience crime?

Regardless of TriAlliance, please contact 911 any time you have urgent needs. TriAlliance is in place to share updates and provide access to an off duty police officer to monitor your home when away or out of town, but all emergencies should go through 911 for immediate assistance.

If you experience theft, break ins, or general crime, please always report here regardless of if it is minor or not. That ensures the City has an accurate picture of the number of incidents occurring in our neighborhood and how that trends over time.

What do I do if I have trouble logging into my account?

Make sure you are logging in / requesting access using the email address you signed up with.

If you are not receiving a code, check spam or consider signing up again with an email to see if that works.

When in doubt, email trialliance1@gmail.com for technical support.

What if I want to cancel?

If you move or choose not to renew, please email trialliance1@gmail.com so we can make sure your subscription is no longer active and we remove you from future communications.

Why would I contact the TriAlliance Officer vs. calling the police / 911?

Anything urgent, immediate should result in a call to 911.

As a TriAlliance member you can always call or text the officer on duty, but this should be for non-emergencies since the cell phone is only used by the off duty officer when they are actively patrolling the neighborhood. That said, please assume there will be a delay and use the off duty patrol for non-emergencies.

How do I get a hold of the TriAlliance police officer?

Please contact trialliance1@gmail.com so that we can share the latest patrol phone number with active members.

Can I pay by check? If so, what is the process?

Yes, we accept check as a form of payment. Make out to: TriAlliance Security Patrol

Deliver to:9165 Dunmore Drive

How can I add a secondary contact to my membership for crime and billing updates?

To add a spouse, partner or additional member of your household, please email trialliance1@gmail.com so we can add them to your record.

Who runs the TriAlliance?

The TriAlliance is non profit and run by volunteers that live in our neighborhood. We break out the activities by function and have 1-2 members in charge of each function with Cara Colgin serving as our Lead Volunteer. Read more about our TriAlliance Volunteers here.

How do patrol hours work?

Patrol hours are randomized and there is no set schedule.

Knowing that most of the crime happens at nighttime, we try to maximize patrol hours during those times as a best effort to deter crime through increased presence and catch criminals.

Who decides how many patrol hours we have per month?

We structure our costs so that we can maximize patrol hours vs. administrative costs. As of October 2025, 41% of the TriAlliance homes are enrolled in the patrol and we are able to afford 57 patrol hours per month. The more members we can recruit, the more patrol hours we can afford.

How many hours can we afford?

Below are the membership levels and hours we can provide more/less patrol hours based on increased memberships and competitive hourly rates for officers.

For reference, there are 180 active memberships as of October 2025 and 400 homes in total in the TriAlliance area.

  • 180 memberships 57 hours

  • 200 memberships 65 hours

  • 215 memberships 71 hours
